New Delhi: A man from Pathanamthitta, accused in a POCSO case, has escaped from police custody while being transported back to the state.
The accused, Sachin Ravi, was arrested in connection with a case registered in 2019. He had been absconding, prompting the police to issue a lookout notice. Recent developments led to his return from Sharjah to Delhi the previous day, where a team of cyber police from Pathanamthitta arrested him.
Sachin was initially taken from Delhi to Bengaluru by flight, and then by bus to Pathanamthitta. He managed to escape from the vehicle during a stop in Chennai.
The police have requested assistance from the Tamil Nadu police to recapture him. Sachin’s photograph has been widely circulated, and the police remain confident of his imminent arrest, as he is believed to be without money or important documents.
