Artist and writer has filed a police complaint after being targeted with obscene AI image requests on X, calling out the abuse and tagging law enforcement
Artist, writer and social media user Tanvi Vij has spoken out against a wave of online harassment after several X users posted obscene prompts asking AI tools to create sexualised images of her.
The comments, made publicly in reply threads, triggered widespread concern over the misuse of AI tools and the lack of accountability for such behaviour.

Reacting strongly, Vij stated that online harassment cannot be allowed to go unpunished and confirmed that a police report has been filed. She warned those responsible that they would be identified and face legal consequences, stressing that the shame lies with the abusers, not the victim. She also tagged X, its India arm, cybercrime support handles and local police authorities, seeking immediate action.
The incident has reignited debate around AI misuse, platform moderation and the safety of women online. Critics say the episode highlights how emerging technologies are being weaponised for harassment, while enforcement and safeguards continue to lag behind.
As of now, no official response has been announced by the platform, while the matter remains under investigation by authorities.
