
Malappuram: In a shocking incident, an auto-rickshaw driver attempted to stab a KSRTC driver at a depot in Perinthalmanna here.
According to the police, driver Sunil of Perinthalmanna KSRTC depot was attacked. Accused auto driver Abdul Rasheed was taken into police custody.
The incident took place in the wee hours of Monday. Sunil reached the depot in a private car to resume duty and board the bus to Ernakulam at 4 a.m. However, Abdul Rasheed's auto rickshaw blocked the road.
The accused refused to move the auto despite Sunil honking the horn.
Abdul Rasheed then got out of the vehicle and started beating up Sunil. After this, he tried to stab Sunil with a knife which was kept wrapped in a cloth in the auto. Sunil managed to block it with his hand. The other employees of the depot caught the accused and handed him over to the police.
