Chennai: Singer KS Chithra has lodged a complaint with the police against fraudsters using her name and image to extort money.

In her complaint, it is alleged that scammers created fake social media accounts, asking people to invest money. Recently, Chithra shared a screenshot related to the scam. When someone questioned whether it was really her, the fraudster responded that she is an ambassador for a company.

The scheme promised that investing Rs 10,000 would yield Rs 50,000 within a week, along with prizes like iPhones. Upon noticing the scam using her name, Chithra approached the police. Following this, the cybercrime department shut down five accounts. A telegram account used for the fraud was deleted by the owner themselves.

Chithra urged everyone to be cautious and not fall for such messages, emphasizing the importance of being vigilant to avoid becoming victims of fraud.
