Two vloggers were arrested by Adoor Police for allegedly attempting to extort ₹10 lakh from the father of a POCSO case accused by threatening to release private videos online.

Adoor: Two vloggers have been arrested for allegedly attempting to extort ₹10 lakh from the father of an accused in a POCSO case by threatening to release private videos online.
The accused were identified as Agni Juwel (33), a resident of Kollam district, and Aneesh Vijayan (35) from Thiruvananthapuram. Both were arrested by the Adoor Police following a trap operation.
According to officers, the duo contacted the father of the prime accused in a POCSO case registered by Adoor Police in May. They allegedly claimed that they had obtained videos from the accused's mobile phone through police sources and threatened to publish the content on their YouTube channels unless they were paid ₹10 lakh.
The suspects were associated with YouTube-based platforms. When the victim informed them that he was unable to arrange the amount demanded, the accused allegedly agreed to accept ₹2.5 lakh. The father then approached Adoor Police and lodged a complaint regarding the alleged extortion attempt.
Acting on the complaint, police laid a trap and the two accused were taken into custody when they arrived in Adoor to collect the money.
The arrested vloggers were later produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
The probe was conducted under the supervision of Adoor Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) V S Pradeep Kumar. The arrest was carried out by a police team led by SHO J Ajayan and other officers.
