Days after a brutal public assault in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar, the gym owner’s son — who was stripped and beaten on the street — has gone missing, raising serious safety concerns.

Days after a disturbing assault in East Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar, the family of the victim has disclosed a troubling update. The gym owner whose teenage son was allegedly stripped and beaten in public has said the young man has left home and remains untraceable, triggering concern over his safety.
The attack took place on January 2 following a dispute linked to a gym operating from the basement of a residential house. CCTV footage of the incident later surfaced online and went viral, prompting police intervention.

Police said the complainant, Rajesh Garg, owns the Laxmi Nagar property and runs a gym from its basement. He alleged that the gym’s caretaker had cheated him and was attempting to take control of the business, with tensions between the two sides escalating over time.
On the day of the incident, Garg and his wife were heading to the basement to inspect a water leakage when the caretaker allegedly arrived with several men. What began as an argument soon turned violent. Garg claimed he was knocked to the ground and assaulted with punches and kicks, while his wife was allegedly molested during the confrontation.
Hearing the disturbance, the couple’s son came out to intervene. He was allegedly overpowered, dragged into the middle of the street, stripped of his clothes, and beaten brutally in full public view. CCTV visuals from the area reportedly show four to five men kicking and assaulting a naked man lying helpless on the road.
Police said the assault ended only after officers reached the scene. The CCTV footage has since been seized and is being examined to reconstruct the sequence of events.
Speaking to ANI, Rajesh Garg said the incident has left the family shattered. “My son’s wedding is in 10 days. He was beaten badly and left on the road. Both my sons left home soon after the incident and switched off their phones. We don’t know where they are,” he said, adding that the family fears for their safety.
The victim’s mother, Rita Garg, gave a detailed account of the events, alleging that one of the accused grabbed her husband while another arrived in a speeding vehicle, narrowly missing him.
She said she was kicked and dragged while trying to intervene. By the time she sought help from the police, she alleged that the attackers had entered the house, dragged her son out, stripped him, and beaten him naked as people watched. She said her son kept pleading with folded hands during the assault.
