Neighbours rushed to the scene upon hearing the commotion and found Faseela lying in a pool of blood.

Wandoor: Shock and disbelief have gripped the local community in Kaappil, Wandoor, following the brutal killing of a 38-year-old woman, Faseela, allegedly stabbed to death by her husband following a domestic altercation on Wednesday afternoon.
The victim’s husband, Kunnummal Rasheed (48), an arecanut trader who leases plantations, has been taken into police custody in connection with the murder.
Argument over curry turns fatal
According to local police, the incident occurred around 3:00 pm on Wednesday. Rasheed, who was under the influence of alcohol, returned home to find his wife absent. Faseela returned around 2:30 pm after running errands in Wandoor town, prompting Rasheed to confront her for not having prepared curry for lunch.
Although Rasheed briefly left to buy food from a nearby restaurant, the argument resumed upon his return. During the heated dispute, he allegedly seized a kitchen knife and inflicted fatal stab wounds on Faseela in the kitchen.

Neighbours rushed to the scene upon hearing the commotion and found Faseela lying in a pool of blood. Accompanied by a distraught Rasheed, they took her to a private hospital in Wandoor in a car, but she was declared dead on arrival.
Jaisal, a neighbor who drove the car to the hospital, recalled that Rasheed sat beside his bleeding wife, weeping and desperately pleading for help.
History of alcohol abuse and domestic strain
Local residents described Rasheed as a man whose life deteriorated following severe alcohol addiction. According to neighbors, Rasheed would abstain from drinking for months at a time, but once he relapsed, he would remain intoxicated continuously and grow aggressive at home.
During these episodes, Faseela frequently sought refuge at her paternal home in Thodiyapulam. After sobering up, Rasheed would routinely approach local mahal authorities and political leaders to mediate, offering assurances to her family to facilitate her return.
The fatal relapse reportedly occurred shortly after the recent Onam celebrations.
Devastated family left in grief
Faseela had returned to her marital home in Kaappil on Tuesday after spending Onam with her family. On Wednesday afternoon, just hours before the attack, her mother, Ayisha, met Faseela in Wandoor town to drop off a mobile phone charger Faseela had left behind.
Shortly after returning home, Ayisha received a phone call from a neighbor informing her of the tragedy. The victim's father, Kunnummal Poonguzhi Abdu, has been bedridden following a stroke for several years.
Police investigation underway
A police team led by Wandoor Inspector Gopakumar and Sub-Inspector A.P. Ashif arrived at the scene and commenced an investigation.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to the Manjeri Medical College Hospital mortuary for inquest procedures and a post-mortem examination. The couple is survived by their three children.
