Manapparai: Police have arrested four individuals, including a private school correspondent and her husband, in connection with the sexual harassment of a Class VI student at the school, authorities confirmed on Friday.

A senior police officer stated that the correspondent’s husband was the "primary suspect" in the case involving the young girl. The incident occurred in Manapparai, located in the Tiruchirappalli district.

Authorities are currently searching for one more individual in connection with the case. A police spokesperson confirmed that the arrests were made following a formal complaint from the victim's parents. The official further stated that if necessary, additional suspects may be charged as the investigation continues.

On Thursday night, the victim's relatives, joined by local residents, expressed their fury by vandalising the school. They broke windows and flower pots and caused damage to a car parked on the premises.
