The Bidhannagar Assembly constituency in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal stands out for its wide roads and tree-lined avenues, reflecting its identity as a well-planned urban township.
Formed after the 2011 delimitation exercise, the constituency lies on the outskirts of Kolkata and encompasses Salt Lake, known for its organised infrastructure and growing commercial hubs.

As the state heads toward the 2026 Assembly elections, many residents express satisfaction with the infrastructure development that has significantly transformed the locality over the years.
A key concern in the past, waterlogging during the monsoon, has also seen notable improvement. Locals say that since Bidhannagar became a separate constituency, substantial measures have been taken to mitigate flooding issues.
However, not all concerns have been addressed. A section of the electorate points out that while infrastructure has improved, greater focus is needed on maintaining cleanliness, enhancing hygiene standards, and improving public transport and commuting facilities.
Bidhannagar is set to vote in the second phase of the 294-member West Bengal Assembly elections on April 29, with results scheduled to be announced on May 4.
