Jharkhand migrant worker Anmol Dodrai dies in the Wayanad landslide. His grieving family seeks government support after losing its sole breadwinner.
The Wayanad landslide has not only claimed lives but also shattered the dreams of families hundreds of kilometres away. Among those killed was 25-year-old Anmol Dodrai, a migrant worker from Jharkhand's Khunti district, who had travelled to Kerala hoping to build a better future. For Anmol's family, the tragedy is devastating. As the sole breadwinner, he supported his parents, two sisters and a younger brother who is still in school. Despite completing his graduation and once pursuing hockey, he could not find stable employment in his home state and migrated to Kerala for work.
His family says Anmol often spoke about delayed wages and the struggle to send money home. Yet he continued working to keep the family afloat.
