Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday described the Union Budget 2026–27 as a strong step towards realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat, highlighting its focus on infrastructure, employment, and inclusive growth.

Fadnavis noted that the Budget allocates ₹12 lakh crore for infrastructure, along with substantial support for agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and irrigation. He praised the proposal to expand initiatives like Lakhpati Didi, with dedicated malls and industrial opportunities for women, and hostels for girls pursuing higher education in every district.

The Chief Minister also welcomed the announcement of emergency medical services, including casualty and trauma centres, at district hospitals, calling it a major boost to healthcare. He added that the Mumbai–Pune and Pune–Hyderabad high-speed corridors are expected to significantly enhance GDP growth.

Under the Budget, each Growth Hub — including the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune Metropolitan Region, and Nagpur Metropolitan Growth Hub — will receive ₹5,000 crore over five years, further strengthening urban development and economic expansion in the state.
