Two women were killed and a driver was severely injured on Saturday after a lorry carrying tent house materials crashed into a stationary vehicle on the Sanghamitra flyover in Ongole, Andhra Pradesh.

According to Sub-Inspector Mohammed Firoz, a lorry loaded with bricks had broken down while ascending the flyover on its way from Vijayawada to Nellore and was parked on the side of the road. The trailing vehicle failed to spot the stationary lorry and rammed into it from behind. Both female passengers died instantly, while the driver sustained leg fractures and was hospitalised. Police have registered a case. (PTI)
