In a vibrant showcase of creativity and holistic learning, students of the No. 1 Middle School in Rameswaram, alma mater of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, held a unique Science Exhibition-cum-Natural Food Festival, drawing enthusiastic crowds and admiration.

The event featured over 50 innovative science projects, reflecting the students’ curiosity and scientific spirit. Exhibits ranged from an earthquake prediction device and an electric stove prototype to working models explaining Archimedes’ principle and a simplified demonstration of Chandrayaan’s spacecraft design.

Adding a flavourful twist to the scientific showcase, the festival also celebrated traditional and nutritious homemade foods. Students and staff prepared more than 300 dishes using small grains and local ingredients. Among the highlights were moringa halwa, betel nut halwa, tulsi halwa, and a variety of millet-based preparations

Teachers said the dual-theme event aims to inspire students to think innovatively while staying rooted in local culture and wellness practices. The school plans to continue such integrated programmes to promote creativity, scientific temperament, and holistic development among its learners.
