Actor Rajinikanth has addressed recent criticism surrounding his meeting with MK Stalin, clarifying that the visit was personal and rooted in a decades-long friendship. Speaking at a press conference at his residence in Poes Garden, Chennai, the veteran actor also strongly denied rumours suggesting he is “jealous” of actor Vijay following political discussions and viral comments online.
Rajinikanth said his meeting with Stalin took place shortly after election results were announced and was purely a gesture of friendship, not political signalling. He emphasised that their bond spans nearly four decades and should not be interpreted through a political lens.

He also responded to criticism that he did not publicly congratulate Vijay in person, clarifying that he had already posted his wishes on social media platform X. According to him, a misunderstanding at the airport led to unnecessary speculation after a brief interaction with an unidentified person who misquoted or miscommunicated information.
