Buy a sapling with one scan? Rajasthan is making it possible
Rajasthan’s Jhalawar launches QR-based nursery shopping, letting people buy plants online from home with access to over 12 lakh saplings.
Buying plants in Rajasthan is getting a digital upgrade. In a unique eco-friendly and technology-driven initiative, the forest department in the Jhalawar district has introduced a QR code-based plant purchase system to encourage more people to buy and nurture greenery.
Under the new system, QR codes installed outside government nurseries provide instant access to information about available plants and saplings. Residents can simply scan the code using their smartphones, browse plant varieties, and purchase them online without visiting the nursery physically.
