They say free entry to the nine-day event at Bharat Mandapam, along with its well-timed schedule, has helped draw large crowds. Visitors are browsing everything from popular bestsellers to specialised and regional titles.
The fair has brought together more than 1,000 publishers from 35 countries, making it one of the largest literary gatherings in the country. It also offers authors a platform to interact with readers and showcase their work.
The 53rd edition of the New Delhi World Book Fair opened on Saturday with India’s military history as its central theme. Organised by the National Book Trust, the fair will run until January 18.
