A suspected polio case in a two-year-old boy from Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills has raised concerns, especially since India was declared polio-free by the WHO in 2014. However, the Union Health Ministry has clarified that this is a vaccine-derived case and does not jeopardise India’s polio-free status.
