Strong waves hit Perinjanam Beach in Thrissur and the coastal areas in Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha. Houses, boats, floating bridges and fishing nets were destroyed. Residents said they had not received any forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
