Devotees arriving in Prayagraj for the Magh Mela now have an added attraction to enjoy after sunset, a revived water laser show at the city’s ghats.

Suspended earlier due to monsoon-related floods, the show has been restarted specially for the Magh Mela. Through light, water and sound, it narrates the stories and spiritual significance of the Ardh Kumbh and Maha Kumbh, while also highlighting Prayagraj’s deep-rooted mythological heritage.

According to Tourism Officer Aparajta Singh, "This water laser show was started during the Maha Kumbh under the instructions of the Tourism Minister, and it was inaugurated by the honourable cabinet minister – it has been resumed for the Magh Mela. It was discontinued during the floods, and we have resumed it for the Magh Mela. It was inaugurated by the Block Divisional Commissioner and District Magistrate today.

The laser show showcases the importance of the Ardh Kumbh and the Maha Kumbh, and the mythological importance of Prayagraj.."

It is expected that a large number of people will attend the water laser show, which aims to promote tourism.

The show, which offers a colourful blend of religion, history, and visual storytelling along the riverbanks, takes place every day from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sangam Ghat.
