Development is another key theme, especially in terms of job creation. For many young voters, access to meaningful employment opportunities remains a critical issue.
Women voters, meanwhile, are emphasising the importance of representation—not only in politics but across all spheres of society.
Kerala has around 4.25 lakh first-time voters in the 18–19 age group for the 2026 Assembly elections. While they account for just over one-and-a-half percent of the electorate, experts believe they form a significant voting bloc, particularly in a state where election results are often decided by narrow margins.
