BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Saturday said women feel demotivated after recent developments around the Women’s Reservation Bill. She urged continued faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing confidence that the bill would eventually be passed.

Separately, reacting on Friday to the bill’s defeat in the Lok Sabha, the actor-politician described the outcome as “shameful” and “deeply painful”.

"It is a very shameful situation. I don't think anything more painful than this has happened before. The Congress party and the opposition have crossed every limit of injustice and, I would say, even hatred," she said.

She said the outcome had lowered the morale of women and affected their confidence.

"For me, and for all women who had so many dreams attached to this, it feels like a personal loss. But as the prime minister has said, our government will bring this bill. I have full faith in him," she added.
