Thoothukudi/Nagapattinam: Incessant rainfall over the past three days has thrown normal life out of gear in several parts of Thoothukudi district, where multiple residential areas were inundated on Tuesday. Streets and homes remained waterlogged, forcing residents to navigate knee-deep water and disrupting routine activities.

Nagapattinam district also faced a similar situation, with heavy downpours flooding several houses, leaving people stranded in stagnant water. Moving out of their neighbourhoods and obtaining necessary supplies proved to be challenging for many residents.

Local communities in both districts have urged authorities to expedite drainage efforts and deploy adequate relief measures to restore normalcy at the earliest.
