Agriculture is driving rural economic growth with higher farm productivity, fisheries, aquaculture and digital farming initiatives in Andhra Pradesh. The state continues to rank among India's top producers of rice while leading in seafood exports and aquaculture. High-value crops such as chillies, tobacco and cotton, along with food processing, are creating better income opportunities for farmers.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the e-Crop system enables the government to track farmers' needs, update records in real time and directly transfer financial assistance under welfare schemes.

Agriculture exporters say improved government support has helped farmers earn better returns from commercial crops despite challenging weather conditions.

In NTR district, where nearly 46 percent of residents depend on agriculture and allied sectors, officials say farm sector output increased from ₹10,000 crore to ₹11,500 crore in a year. Per capita income also rose from ₹3.5 lakh to ₹4.2 lakh, reflecting agriculture's growing role in strengthening Andhra Pradesh's rural economy.
