Ahmedabad`s Mahi Bhatt, 14, achieved over 50 Junior Scientist certificates from NASA and others in 6 months. Invited to a 2026 NASA rocket launch!
Mahi Bhatt, a 14-year-old from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has achieved a remarkable feat in just six months by obtaining more than 50 Junior Scientist certificates from top international space agencies.
A resident of Vastral and a Class 9 student at Sharadaba Education Campus, Mahi successfully cleared junior scientist examinations conducted by international space organisations, including ISRO, NASA, the European Space Agency, the Australian Space Agency and the UAE Space Agency. She has also secured international-level certifications from the United Nations, UNICEF and UNESCO.
Speaking about her achievement, Mahi said, ‘‘In the past six months, I have cleared multiple exams conducted by ISRO, NASA, the European Space Agency, the Australian Space Agency, and the UAE Space Agency, which represents the entire Gulf region. In addition, I have cleared three more international-level exams conducted by the UN, UNICEF, and UNESCO.’’.
Her exceptional performance in NASA’s STEM Junior Scientist programme has earned her a special invitation to attend a rocket launch event scheduled for 2026 at NASA’s headquarters in the United States.
Meanwhile, Mahi’s father, Hemang Bhatt, said, “For one of NASA’s future rocket launch programs, we have already received a virtual passport and boarding pass. Once the schedule is finalised, we will be invited to participate. This will also be a proud moment for India.’’
Mahi's accomplishment has not only made Gujarat and her family proud, but it also highlights India's emerging youth in global space science programmes.
