Adilabad youth overcome Osteogenesis Imperfecta to earn through digital marketing
Born with a rare genetic bone disorder that left him bedridden, 27-year-old Venkata Ramana from Telangana’s Adilabad district has transformed his life through digital marketing.
Confined to a bed since birth due to Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a rare genetic disorder that causes fragile bones, 27-year-old Venkata Ramana from Telangana’s Adilabad district has carved out a successful career in digital marketing.
Unable to attend regular school because of severe mobility limitations, Ramana was educated at home by his mother and grandmother using handmade charts and storytelling methods. He later completed his Class 10 education through the Telangana Open School Society in 2018 with the help of a scribe.
After health issues and the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted further studies, he shifted his focus to skill-based learning. Initially interested in coding and cybersecurity, Ramana later pursued digital marketing, which he felt better suited his condition. Today, working remotely for marketing and EdTech firms, he manages projects, mentors students online, and earns between Rs 35,000 and Rs 50,000 per month, inspiring many with his determination and resilience.
