Shimla, Himachal Pradesh: As the Union Budget is set to be tabled on February 1, aspirational youths in Shimla are looking to it with high hopes; seeing it as more than just a fiscal document, they view it as a potential gateway to opportunities that could shape their future.

Many young residents of the hill town are calling for a strong focus on skill development, emphasising that equipping them with modern, globally relevant skills will help them compete on the international stage. Meanwhile, they stress the importance of generating sufficient employment opportunities that align with their existing qualifications and expertise.

Beyond personal career aspirations, Shimla’s students are also urging the government to address larger societal concerns, particularly climate change, through the budget. They believe that tackling environmental issues is crucial for the well-being of the community and future generations.
