The actor-director duo of Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj has proven to be a winning combination, yielding some of the most critically acclaimed films in Bollywood. Their successful collaborations have showcased Shahid's versatility as an actor and Vishal's mastery of storytelling.
Now, the duo is set to reunite for a new, yet-to-be-titled project, which will also star Triptii Dimri as the female lead. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is reportedly slated to begin production in September or October and is expected to hit theatres in 2025.
With the trio's combined talent and Vishal's expertise in crafting complex, engaging narratives, expectations are high for this upcoming venture, which promises to be another memorable addition to their impressive filmography.
While more details of the untitled next are awaited, which will reportedly be shot in India and the United States of America, we look back at the successful collaborations of Shahid and Vishal that made them a perfect match made in Bollywood heaven.

Kaminey:
Released in 2019, the Hindi actioner saw Shahid in a dual role of Charlie Sharma and Guddu Sharma. Also starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, ‘Kaminey’ is considered one of the best performances of Shahid. The film received widespread acclaim on various factors, including Shahid’s performance, Vishal’s direction and music, and Tassaduq Hussain’s cinematography. Made on a budget of Rs. 35 crore, ‘Kaminey’ was a commercial success that later went on to join the cult-classic club of Hindi cinema.

Haider:
After the humongous success of ‘Kaminey,’ Shahid and Vishal returned to work again for ‘Haider.’ A political thriller set in Kashmir during the conflicts of 1995, ‘Haider’ is a modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare’s famous play ‘Hamlet.’ It is the third Shakespere play that Bhardwaj adapted in Hindi with his unique touches after ‘Muqbool’ and ‘Omkara’. ‘Haider’ also starred Kay Kay Menon, Tabu, and Shraddha Kapoor in important roles, while Irrfan Khan also had a special role to play as Roohdaar.’ Just like ‘Kaminey,’ ‘Haider’ also received widespread praise for Shahid and Vishal’s works. Also made on a budget similar to that of ‘Kaminey,’ ‘Haider’ minted Rs. 85 crore at the box office.

Rangoon:
The actor-director’s third collaboration was the 2017 romantic drama film titled ‘Rangoon.’ Apart from Shahid, it also starred Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut in the leading roles. Although it did not fare well at the box office, unlike the past collaborations of Shahid and Vishal, ‘Rangoon’ went on to receive critical acclaim from the critics. It was Kangana’s performance as Julia that largely shouldered the film.
