The upcoming marriage of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant continues to capture widespread attention on social media. The Ambani family wedding at the Jio World Convention Centre on July 12 in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla complex (BKC) has created a notable surge in hotel bookings and room rates in the surrounding area.
Travel and hotel booking websites indicate that rooms at two prominent hotels near the venue are completely booked from July 10 to July 14, with rates reaching as high as Rs 91,350 per night, compared to the usual Rs 13,000 per night. Rates fluctuate between Rs 10,250 and Rs 16,750, inclusive of taxes, at Trident and BKC on specific dates surrounding the wedding.
At the Sofitel Hotel in BKC, the rates vary significantly around the dates of July 12. On July 9, the rate is Rs 13,000 excluding tax, but it jumps to Rs 30,150 on July 12, Rs 40,590 on July 13, and peaks at Rs 91,350 on July 14. The rate decreases to Rs 16,560 on July 15 and Rs 13,680 on July 16. Booking is unavailable on July 10 and 11. Meanwhile, rooms are still available at other five-star hotels like the Grand Hyatt, Taj Santa Cruz, and Taj Bandra during the same period.
The Bandra-Kurla complex, where the wedding venue is located, houses numerous A-grade offices, including The Capital, Bank of Baroda, Indian Oil Godrej BKC, and others. Mumbai Police have issued traffic restrictions on all roads leading to the Jio World Convention Centre from July 12 to 15, prompting organisations to advise employees to work from home during this period.
While there has been no official announcement regarding accommodations for wedding guests, the event is expected to draw numerous celebrities and prominent personalities. The celebrations are scheduled to span from July 12 to July 14, with Shubh Ashirvad on July 13 and the wedding reception, Mangal Utsav, on July 14.
