Following the release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ on July 26, fans have been raving about the spectacular dance sequence featuring Deadpool in the opening credits.
Grooving to the NSYNC hit ‘Bye Bye Bye,’ the scene has quickly become a standout moment. But here’s the secret—it wasn’t Ryan Reynolds who showed off those impressive moves.
While we’ve witnessed Deadpool’s dance move in previous films, this time, it was professional dancer Nick Pauley who stepped in as Reynolds’ dance double.
Pauley, who has showcased his talents in music videos for stars like Katy Perry and Doja Cat, took to Instagram to express his excitement about his role in the movie.
“It’s true! I am Dancepool in the new Deadpool and Wolverine. This secret has been so hard to keep! I can’t believe I have the honor of being @vancityreynolds’ dance double for the opening scene of the entire movie!!!” Pauley shared.
In his post, Pauley also thanked Reynolds for trusting him with the role. “Thank you @vancityreynolds for believing in me to play Dancepool! It is the greatest honor of my life! #deadpoolandwolverine,” he wrote, along with a video of himself dancing to "Bye Bye Bye" in a crop top and denim jeans.
He also expressed gratitude to the film’s team for their support. “Thank you for your encouragement and enthusiasm when bringing me onboard. It gave me a lot of purpose…” Pauley added.
