Sara Arjun may play the female lead opposite Ram Charan in Sukumar’s RC17

Sara Arjun could be gearing up for another major film after the success of ‘Dhurandhar’ and its sequel. The actor is reportedly in talks to play the female lead opposite Ram Charan in his upcoming film with director Sukumar, tentatively titled ‘RC17’. The project will bring the actor-director duo together again after their acclaimed 2018 film Rangasthalam.
According to a report by Telugu 360, Sara has been finalised for the female lead role, and she reportedly liked the script. However, neither the actor nor the filmmakers have officially confirmed her casting. The report also states that the team is planning a grand launch event around Dussehra.
Ram Charan’s RC17 to begin filming in December
With the script reportedly locked, the makers are preparing to take RC17 to the sets. Filming is expected to begin in December, according to reports, while pre-production work is currently underway.
Ram Charan had taken time off after his most recent release, ‘Peddi’, to recover from an injury that required surgery. The actor is now working towards getting back into shape ahead of his next collaboration with Sukumar.
The film’s music composer has also become a talking point. According to a Mid-Day report, the makers are considering Anirudh Ravichander and Shashwat Sachdev, who composed the music for ‘Dhurandhar’, among the possible choices.
Sukumar has frequently worked with Devi Sri Prasad, making the reported consideration of other composers a notable development. The final choice, however, has not been announced.
Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the untitled film is reportedly being planned for a theatrical release in 2028. The makers have kept the storyline and other casting details under wraps.
Ram Charan and Sukumar reunite after ‘Rangasthalam’
The reunion of Ram Charan and Sukumar has already drawn attention, given the response to their previous collaboration, ‘Rangasthalam’. Released in 2018, the Telugu film earned considerable appreciation from audiences and remains a significant title in both their careers.
Sukumar later directed ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, further strengthening his reputation with audiences across India.
Apart from the reported opportunity in ‘RC17’, Sara is also set to appear in an upcoming untitled film in which she will portray Madhubala.
The project is being directed by Jasmeet K. Reen, known for helming Alia Bhatt’s ‘Darlings’. Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is backing the production.
The makers have not announced a release date for the film yet.
