The much-anticipated film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Kannada superstar Yash, has been postponed from its original March 19 release date to June 4, 2026, the makers announced on Wednesday.

In an official statement, the team behind the film said that the ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East and the resulting global situation have impacted their plans to connect with the widest possible audience, prompting the difficult decision to reschedule the release. “We thank you for your understanding and patience and look forward to your continued love and support,” the statement added.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was conceived as a film for both Indian and international audiences, being shot simultaneously in Kannada and English with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The period gangster drama directed by National Award–winning filmmaker Geetu Mohandas blends stylish action with an ensemble cast, marking one of the most ambitious Indian releases of 2026.

The film features a stellar lineup including Yash in the lead role, alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. It had already generated substantial pre-release buzz, with reports suggesting nearly ₹600 crore in business through distribution, satellite and music rights even before its theatrical debut.

Toxic was poised to clash at the box office with other major releases, including Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, setting up one of the biggest theatrical battles of the year. The postponement may shift strategies for both films, giving Toxic a distinct launch window ahead of the busy summer season.
