Yash’s Toxic faces fresh controversy as a Christian group files a complaint alleging the teaser “hurts religious sentiments”.

Yash’s upcoming pan-India action film Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, has run into another controversy ahead of its trailer release. After the Women’s Commission criticised the teaser over the portrayal of an intimate scene, a Christian organisation has now approached authorities alleging that the teaser “hurts religious sentiments”.
The National Christian Federation (NCF) has submitted a formal complaint to the Film Chamber of Commerce, the state government’s Chief Secretary and Home Secretary, as well as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The group has objected to scenes referencing Michael the Archangel, stating that the depiction is inappropriate and amounts to an insult to the faith.
According to the complaint, the teaser features an intimate sequence inside a car parked near a cemetery, followed by a violent shootout within the burial grounds. The location shown in the visuals reportedly contains religious iconography, including a statue of Archangel Michael.
The NCF has called for the immediate removal of the objectionable portions and urged the filmmakers to take down the teaser from YouTube and other platforms. The teaser, which revealed Yash’s first look from the film, was released last month by the production house KVN Productions.
