The Malayalam film industry came together to extend heartfelt wishes to veteran actor Mohanlal, as he celebrated his 65th birthday on Wednesday. Several stars and filmmakers shared wishes and memories, celebrating the illustrious career and warm persona of one of Indian cinema’s most beloved actors.
Among the first to greet him was fellow superstar Mammootty, who shared a photo with Mohanlal and wrote on Facebook: “Happy birthday dear Lal.” Mammootty’s production house, Mammootty Kampany, also posted a birthday message on its official social media handles.
Meanwhile, Antony Perumbavoor extended wishes by posting photos of birthday celebrations with the actor.
Prithviraj Sukumaran, who directed Mohanlal in the blockbuster Empuraan, shared a still from the film’s set and wrote: “Happy birthday, Laletta. Wishing you yet another year of breaking records.”
Actor Dileep wrote, “Happy birthday, Laletta. May God bless you with health, happiness, and all the goodness in life.”
Several other prominent figures from the Malayalam film industry, including directors Sibi Malayil, Major Ravi, Sajid Yahiya, Tharun Moorthy, M.A. Nishad, and actor-politicians K.B. Ganesh Kumar and M. Mukesh, joined in to wish the veteran actor.
Actors Shwetha Menon, Chippy Ranjith, Binu Pappu, Krishna Prabha, Appani Sarath, Sunny Wayne, Ansiba Hassan, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Veena Nair, Anaswara Rajan, and Sowmya Menon also took to social media to extend their wishes.
Legendary singers K.J. Yesudas and Sujatha Mohan, as well as screenwriter Abhilash Pillai, were among others who shared heartfelt messages.
Mukesh Kumar Singh, director of Mohanlal’s upcoming Telugu film Kannappa, praised the actor, stating: “You’re not only a legendary actor but also one of the kindest human beings I’ve ever met.”
