Asif Ali and Jis Joy have reunited for their sixth film, Kottayam Belt, with the shooting officially commencing in Thrissur.
Thrissur: The shooting of Kottayam Belt, which reunites actor Asif Ali and director Jis Joy, has officially begun in Thrissur.
The film was formally announced in Kochi on July 14, with its motion poster generating considerable buzz for Asif Ali's striking new look, sporting a twirled moustache and an intense makeover. The project marks the sixth collaboration between the actor and director.

The launch ceremony was attended by the film's cast and crew. Writer Santhosh Echikkanam switched on the camera while Asif Ali's children, Adam and Haya, gave the ceremonial first clap.
Kottayam Belt also reunites Asif Ali with veteran actor Vijayaraghavan after Kishkindha Kaandam. The film is produced by T.R. Shamsuddeen and Venu Gopalakrishnan under the banners of Dreamkatcher Productions and Kaalish Productions.
Written by Suresh Gopal, the film features an ensemble cast including Bobby Kurian, Shine Tom Chacko, Vijayaraghavan, Jagadish, Vishnu Agasthya, Sandra Chandran, Shruti Ramachandran, Ranjith Shekhar, Jinu Joseph, Sreekanth Murali, and Jithesh Rachel Samuel. Cinematography is by Binendra Menon, while Govind Vasantha composes the music.
