Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan marked the 79th Independence Day with a heartfelt musical tribute, sharing a clip from his 2020 anthem ‘Pyaar Karona’ on Instagram. The video featured Khan crooning the song’s lyrics with emotive expressions, sending out warm Independence Day wishes to his fans. In his caption, he wrote, “Happy Independence Day,” capturing the spirit of the occasion. The clip wrapped up with Salman’s greeting and a glimpse of the Indian tricolour.

The song ‘Pyaar Karona’ was originally released in April 2020 at the height of the pandemic, created to motivate people in their fight against COVID-19. It was composed by Sajid Wajid, with lyrics penned by Salman Khan himself and Hussain Dalal, and directed by Abhiraj Minawala.

The Independence Day celebrations saw tributes from several other Bollywood stars as well. Akshay Kumar honoured “heroes” maintaining beach cleanliness, Suniel Shetty dedicated his wishes to the Armed Forces, and Hema Malini, Rajkummar Rao, Vikrant Massey, Arjun Rampal, Sara Ali Khan, and Ram Charan joined in with their own messages and greetings.
