The puja ceremony, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kochi, marked the official launch of the project- Thudakkam movie.

Kochi: Mohanlal’s daughter, Vismaya Mohanlal, is set to make her debut in cinema, and the film’s puja ceremony was held yesterday in Kochi. The event saw several leading figures from the Malayalam film industry extend their best wishes to her among them, director Priyadarshan, whose social media post has now gone viral thanks to an amusing reaction from his daughter, actress Kalyani Priyadarshan.
Sharing her father’s post on Instagram, Kalyani wrote: “I didn’t know father had an Instagram account until this moment, honestly.” She clarified that she was telling the truth, adding a touch of humour to the celebratory moment. In a separate post, Kalyani wished Vismaya success and shared a childhood photo of the two together.
In his original note on Instagram and Facebook, Priyadarshan reminisced about their shared past:
“I have carried both these children in my arms. We were that kind of a family. As Mohanlal said today, we never thought they would enter cinema. Just as Kalyani had a great start, may Maya’s debut also be a beautiful one. God bless you, Maya.”
The puja ceremony, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kochi, marked the official launch of the project. Mohanlal’s son and Vismaya’s brother, Pranav Mohanlal, gave the inaugural clap, while Suchitra Mohanlal performed the switch-on ceremony. Speaking at the event, Mohanlal said he had never imagined his daughter would step into the film industry.
The film, titled Thudakkam, is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Antony’s son, Ashish Perumbavoor, also plays a lead role in the movie. Jakes Bejoy will compose the music, and Jomon T. John serves as the cinematographer.
