Telugu actress Surekha Vani has raised an alarm over the alleged hacking of her Instagram account. The actress took to the social media platform to clarify the situation after certain private content began circulating online without her consent. She has also warned that legal action will be taken against those responsible for sharing it.

Clips of the actress sharing intimate moments with a younger man reportedly appeared on her Instagram account before being deleted shortly afterwards. However, clips soon began circulating across various social media platforms, with several accounts sharing them and triggering speculation among users.

Addressing the issue through a lengthy Instagram post, Surekha Vani said her account had been compromised and strongly objected to the circulation of her personal content. She also urged media outlets, meme pages, YouTube channels and individual users to stop sharing or reposting the videos.

"My Instagram account was hacked, and my private/personal content is being circulated without my consent," she wrote.

The actress further warned that she would take legal action against anyone found sharing or distributing the material. She said such accounts and individuals would be identified and documented, and cautioned people against using the situation to gain views, publicity or social media engagement.

"Respect my privacy. This is a serious matter and I will not hesitate to take legal action," she added.

Surekha Vani's statement comes amid suspicions that the private video of popular senior actress Surekha Vani circulating on social media could be a deepfake.

Several prominent actors have faced similar incidents in recent years. In 2023, a morphed video of Rashmika Mandanna entering an elevator went viral, prompting a police investigation. More recently, Janhvi Kapoor became a target of an AI-generated video that used footage from her song Chuttamalle with Jr NTR to create sexually explicit and degrading content.
