When discussing the central character of the film Oru Jaathi Jaathakam, writer Rakesh Mantodi (Vineeth Sreenivasan’s cousin) revealed that he based the portrayal of the chauvinistic, body-focused character on his experiences with some friends, particularly during his time in Chennai.

In a recent promotion for the film with The Cue Studio, actor Vineeth, writer Rakesh, and director M Mohanan (Vineeth’s and Rakesh’s uncle) shared insights into the movie’s themes and characters.

"The character for the movie, a man who views women only in a superficial and body-wise level, a chauvinist and sexist man, was created from all these people. Not from a particular person," Rakesh said.

Vineeth jokingly suggested that the character in the film might be based on Rakesh’s own experiences. Rakesh humorously responded by sharing a funny anecdote about Vineeth's earlier attitudes.

"Vineeth was not the person he is right now. Earlier, he was a chauvinist. Once, I went to Chennai many years ago, when Vineeth was in a relationship with Divya (his now-wife). If Divya didn’t wear a shawl, he would ask, 'Divyakutti, where is your shawl?’"

The revelation led to laughs among the group.

Rakesh went on to explain that Vineeth had evolved over time, becoming more progressive in his views. "We all were a bit chauvinist back then," he added, acknowledging the personal growth of the group.
