Big-budget Tamil films like Kanguva starring Suriya and GOAT featuring Vijay have not met expectations at the box office since their release. Both films faced significant criticism, with many trolls mocking scenes on social media.
Recently, actor Vijay Sethupathi was reportedly questioned about the failure of these films during an interview promoting his upcoming movie Viduthalai Part 2.
When asked about Kanguva and GOAT's box office failures, Vijay Sethupathi responded, "When I come for the promotion of my film, why should I speak about about this (topic)?" He went on to explain that failure is a part of the industry and can happen to anyone.
"It happened to me as well, and people trolled me for it...Many people have started businesses, and not everyone succeeds. But everyone wants to succeed," he said.
The actor also shared insights on the process of making a film. "Before a movie is released, a select few members of the team watch it and share their opinions. My failed films have also been shown to a few before release, and we listen to their feedback after watching the film...All films reach the theatres in the same way."
Viduthalai Part 2 is the sequel of the film Viduthalai directed by Vetrimaaran. Along with Vijay Sethupathi, film stars Soori and Manju Warrier will be seen in lead roles.
