Mohanlal`s Ravanaprabhu, sequel to Devasuram, gets a 4K Dolby Atmos re-release

It’s re-release season in South Indian cinema, and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is leading the trend with multiple classics returning to the big screen. His films are drawing huge crowds once again, with fans celebrating the nostalgia and grandeur of his iconic roles.
Adding to the lineup, Ravanaprabhu, the much-awaited sequel to the cult classic Devasuram, is all set for a re-release. Originally released in October 2001, the film was directed by Ranjith, marking his directorial debut. Now, Ravanaprabhu is coming back to theatres in stunning 4K Dolby Atmos, promising an enhanced cinematic experience for a new generation of viewers.
The re-release is being handled by Matinee Now, which confirmed the news through social media along with a fresh poster. Fans had been demanding the return of Ravanaprabhu ever since the re-release of Mohanlal’s Chhota Mumbai, which received an overwhelming response.
Ravanaprabhu features Mohanlal in a powerful double role and stars Vasundhara Das as the female lead. The film also includes stellar performances by Napoleon, Siddique, Innocent, and Vijayaraghavan. With music by Suresh Peters and production by Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner, the film remains one of the most celebrated in Mohanlal’s career. It continues the legacy of Devasuram, also written by Ranjith, which was released in 1993.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal was last seen on the big screen in a guest role in the Telugu film Kannappa, which will also release in Malayalam. With these re-releases and cameo appearances, the star continues to stay connected with his fans across languages and generations.
