Kochi: Actress Usha Haseena is preparing to lodge a formal complaint with the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), raising serious concerns about a missing memory card that allegedly contains sensitive testimonies from women members of the organisation. The complaint names Edavela Babu and Kukku Parameswaran as being responsible for the card’s whereabouts.

The issue stems from a closed-door meeting held in the wake of the ‘Me Too’ movement, during which female AMMA members were encouraged to share their experiences and concerns. The discussions were reportedly recorded onto a memory card that has since gone missing. Haseena alleges that despite the significance of the content, the card was neither submitted to the Hema Committee, which was formed to study gender issues in Malayalam cinema, nor acted upon by the association.

Haseena claims that Kukku Parameswaran was the person who handled the card and that both she and Edavela Babu should be held accountable for failing to preserve or disclose its contents. Her complaint seeks a proper inquiry into the card’s disappearance and demands that it be recovered.

In response, Kukku Parameswaran, who is contesting for the post of AMMA General Secretary, has filed a complaint with the Director General of Police. She alleges that a concerted campaign is being run against her, particularly on social media, to malign her image ahead of the elections. Kukku insists the controversy surrounding the memory card is being revived only because of her candidacy and termed it a political conspiracy aimed at tarnishing her reputation.
