The thriller-suspense film Identity, starring Tovino Thomas and Trisha in lead roles, was released in theatres on January 2 to mixed reviews. While Tovino and other cast members actively participated in the film's promotions, Trisha was notably absent.

During a promotional event, Tovino revealed the reason behind her absence. Trisha was mourning the loss of her beloved pet dog, Zorro, which she had raised for 12 years.

Tovino’s statement

"At the time this promotional event was planned, Trisha suffered a personal loss. Her pet dog, whom she had raised lovingly for many years, passed away. In her grief, Trisha officially informed us that she would be taking a short break from all film-related activities.

As a pet lover myself, I completely understand her feelings. The pain of losing a pet you have loved for years is something only those who have experienced it can truly comprehend. It's an emotional loss, and I couldn’t possibly insist that she attend the promotions during such a difficult time," Tovino said during the interview.

Trisha’s emotional Instagram post

Trisha shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram on December 25, Christmas morning, stating that she had lost Zorro. In her post, she mentioned the immense shock and grief her family was going through, adding that she would be stepping back from work for a while. She also posted pictures of Zorro, paying tribute to her cherished companion.

Trisha’s absence from Identity promotions has drawn understanding and sympathy from fans and colleagues alike, highlighting the deep bond between pet owners and their animals.
