Chennai: An old interview of actor Trisha Krishnan has resurfaced online and is gaining traction on social media, coinciding with the strong electoral performance of actor-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in the Tamil Nadu Assembly election trends.

The clip, reportedly from a 2004 interview during the early phase of her film career, shows Trisha speaking about her ambitions when asked about her long-term goals. In the video, she jokingly expressed a desire to enter politics and lead the state.

“I want to become the CM of Tamil Nadu. Honestly! Wait and see; I will achieve it in the next 10 years,” she said, as reported by the Deccan Herald. When further asked what she would do after becoming chief minister, she responded humorously, “First, you all vote and elect me, then I'll tell you!”

Video resurfaces amid political buzz

The clip has reappeared online at a time when Tamil Nadu is witnessing a closely contested three-way electoral battle between the ruling DMK, the AIADMK-BJP alliance, and Vijay’s TVK, which has emerged as a new political force.

TVK has reportedly been leading in over 100 of the 234 assembly seats in early trends, intensifying public and online discussions around the actor’s political debut.

Trisha visits Vijay’s Chennai residence

Adding to the social media attention, Trisha was recently seen visiting TVK chief Vijay at his residence in Chennai. Videos of her arrival, widely shared online, showed her being welcomed at the actor-politician’s home.

Earlier in the day, she also visited the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati for prayers as she marked her 43rd birthday. She was seen offering prayers and interacting briefly with devotees during her visit, with images and videos circulating online soon after.

In recent months, Vijay and Trisha have frequently been the subject of online speculation regarding their association, although neither has commented on the rumours.
