“I do not know if I will be around for longer,” the actor said in a video seeking financial aid for medical treatment that surfaced on the internet a few months ago.

Tamil actor Abhinay, best known for his role in Dhanush’s Thulluvadho Ilamai, released in 2002, has passed away following prolonged liver-related health complications. He was 44.
According to sources, Abhinay had been battling a severe liver condition for several years. Despite ongoing medical treatment, his health deteriorated in recent months, ultimately leading to his death earlier today.
Abhinay made his screen debut with Thulluvadho Ilamai, a film that also marked Dhanush’s first appearance as a lead actor. In the film, Abhinay portrayed Vishnu, one of the close friends of Dhanush’s character. Over his career, he went on to feature in more than 15 films across Tamil, Telugu and Kannada cinema.
In recent years, Abhinay had publicly sought financial support to manage his medical expenses. In a widely shared video, the actor revealed that doctors had warned he might only have about a year and a half to live. “I do not know if I will be around for longer,” he had said, appealing for help.
The video went viral, prompting an outpouring of support from the film fraternity, including actors Dhanush and KPY Bala.
Abhinay’s untimely demise has left the South Indian film industry in mourning, with fans and colleagues remembering him as a talented actor whose potential was cut short by illness. (With inputs from Agencies)
