
Mollywood star and MP Suresh Gopi lit a candle and offered prayers at St. Mary’s shrine in Pala known as ‘Pala Kurishupally’.
He was returning to Thiruvananthapuram after completing the shooting of his latest movie titled ‘Kaaval’. He also visited the St. Jude Pilgrim Centre in Kizhathadiyoor.
The first shot of Suresh Gopi’s 250th movie ‘Ottakkomban’ was taken in front of this church. Suresh Gopi plays the character of a Christian from Pala in the movie produced by Tomichan Mulakuppadam.
There was a lot of controversy around ‘Ottakkomban’. The movie allegedly had similarities with Prithviraj- Shaji Kailas-Jinu Abraham film ‘Kaduva’. ‘Ottakkomban’, produced by Tomichan Mulakuppadam under the banner of Mulakuppadam Films was originally named ‘Kaduvakkunnel Kuruvachan’ before it was changed.
