Chennai: A video of actor Shruti Haasan being hilariously stopped by security outside Chennai’s Vettri Theatres has gone viral, providing a light-hearted moment amid the massive buzz surrounding the release of Coolie.
In the clip, Shruti, accompanied by friends, can be seen attempting to enter the theatre premises in her car -- only to be halted by the gate security. Her amused reaction, as well as the laughter from those with her, has left the internet in stitches.
The incident comes as Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, smashes box office records. The action-packed drama marks the director’s first collaboration with superstar Rajinikanth, a factor that has fuelled fan frenzy across the country. The film also features a powerhouse cast including Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Upendra.
According to early estimates reported by trade sources including Sacnilk, Coolie collected approximately ₹65 crore net on its opening day in India across all languages -- a career-best for Rajinikanth.

Andhra Pradesh / Telangana: ₹16–18 crore

The film has also performed exceptionally well in overseas markets, where it has reportedly grossed around ₹75 crore on day one.
With over 12 lakh tickets sold on opening day and pre-sales estimated at ₹100 crore, Coolie has set a high benchmark for both the superstar and the Indian film industry this year.
