Thrissur: Actor Shine Tom Chacko will appear at Ernakulam North police station at 3 pm on Saturday, confirmed his father, CP Chacko. The police had issued a notice after Shine allegedly fled a luxury hotel in Kochi during a drug raid conducted earlier this week.
CP Chacko, who received the police notice as Shine was not at home, told reporters that the notice was linked to the actor’s disappearance from a private hotel in Kochi.
“If the government sends a notice, it must be addressed. Shine will reach the North station by 3 pm on Saturday. The notice was given for allegedly fleeing from a private hotel. Shine is not at home. The authorities proposed a time, but we informed them that it was not feasible, as Shine also needs time to get there. We don’t know his exact whereabouts,” said Chacko.
He further stated that no legal assistance had been arranged yet. “There are no lawyers involved. Some of his friends will accompany him. We haven’t taken legal advice. There is no case at the moment. If a case is registered, we’ll consider consulting a lawyer then. I have ten years of experience handling cases. This isn’t the stage for legal discussions. If there’s a crime, a case will follow,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) and the Film Chamber of Commerce are reportedly preparing to hold an urgent meeting on Monday to deliberate on possible disciplinary measures regarding a complaint raised by actress Vincy Aloshious. She had shared a video on Instagram describing troubling experiences on a film set, including drug use and inappropriate behaviour.
If Shine fails to provide an explanation within the given timeframe, AMMA’s disciplinary committee will recommend to the general body that he be expelled from the organisation. AMMA’s decision is based on a report submitted by a three-member panel appointed by the association. Although Vincy is not a member of AMMA, the internal committee is deliberating on what action can be taken since Shine is a member.
