The feud between music duo Sachet–Parampara and composer Amaal Mallik escalated sharply this week after the duo released a long video accusing Mallik of “false, baseless and damaging” claims about the hit Kabir Singh track Bekhayali.

But as the duo went public with their allegations against Mallik, older plagiarism accusations from independent musicians resurfaced online, amplified by Amaal’s fans, pushing the controversy into a full-blown industry storm.

Sachet–Parampara accuse Amaal Mallik of lying about Bekhayali’s origin

In a detailed Instagram video, Sachet–Parampara said they were forced to break their silence after Amaal allegedly kept claiming that Bekhayali resembled an old tune of his.

The duo wrote, “SHAME ON YOU AMAAL MALIK.”

They asserted that the song was composed entirely by them in the presence of the Kabir Singh team, including Shahid Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

“Every melody, every arrangement, every lyric — all created with the team in the room. It is 100% our original composition.”

They also showed screenshots of Amaal previously congratulating them and praising their work, questioning why he would do that if he believed the track had been copied.

Duo demands a public apology from Amaal

Calling the accusations defamatory, they said, “Say only what you have proof of. Whatever you claimed in the media is wrong. We want a public apology.”

They added they were ready to issue legal notices if needed.

Old plagiarism allegations return — now pushed by Amaal’s supporters

Soon after Sachet–Parampara’s attack on Amaal went viral, fans of the composer resurfaced earlier accusations made by independent musicians against the duo.

In a previously posted video, music producer KMKZ had alleged that a beat he uploaded online two years ago was used, without permission, in a song that later went on to, cross 290 million streams on Spotify

His resurfaced quote is now trending again, “I produced the number one song in India and I didn’t even know about it.”

Another musician, Rajarshi Mitter, had claimed that the duo copied a track he created on 31 August 2018 for Maiyya from the film Do Patti.

That claim too has reappeared on X, prompting the hashtag #ShameOnSachetParampara to trend.
