In the circulating video, Rajpal Yadav is seen praising Salman Khan and thanking him for his support, calling him like an elder brother. The emotional tone of the clip led some social media users to assume that Salman may have helped him secure relief in his legal troubles.

As the video gained traction online, several posts claimed that Rajpal Yadav had been released from jail. However, other users quickly pointed out that the footage was old and unrelated to the current case.
Has Rajpal Yadav been released from Tihar Jail?
No. According to available information, Rajpal Yadav is still in jail.
The viral video dates back to an earlier period when he was released after serving a jail term in 2018. At that time, he had spent around three months in custody in connection with a cheque-bounce case linked to a film financing loan.
The actor recently surrendered on February 5, 2026, in connection with an ongoing legal matter involving a long-running debt and cheque-bounce case.
Why the old video went viral now
The resurfacing of the old clip, combined with recent reports of support from Bollywood actors, created a false impression that Rajpal Yadav had been released. Authorities have not confirmed any change in his legal status.
