Rajinikanth’s Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is setting the box office abuzz well before its August 14 debut. Boasting a powerhouse cast including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and a cameo by Aamir Khan, the film has sparked sky-high anticipation.

By Saturday, overseas advance sales had already surged past $4 million (approx. ₹33 crore), as per Sacnilk. The momentum grew over the weekend, and it has already crossed ₹50 crore in advance bookings worldwide. In India, pre-sales—launched on Friday—have pulled in ₹14 crore so far, led by the Tamil version at ₹9.98 crore. Telugu and Kannada versions are performing steadily, while the Hindi dubbed edition, with 2,500 tickets sold across 400 shows, is expected to gather pace closer to release.

With its current trajectory, Coolie is on track to smash the advance booking record for a Rajinikanth film, surpassing Jailer’s ₹18 crore milestone. The bigger target? Leo’s all-time mark of ₹46 crore. Overseas, it has already overtaken Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life with ₹41 crore, and domestic numbers are climbing fast.

If this trend holds, Coolie could deliver one of Indian cinema’s biggest opening days—and the largest first-day collection in Rajinikanth’s storied career.
